About the AC 428 Frua
The AC Frua was built in the UK using an Italian body (built onto the extended Cobbra chassis by Frua in Italy), and an American Big Block Ford V8 engine. The car had fully independent racing type coil spring suspension all round. Lack of funds prevented full development of the car and it suffered from a hot cockpit from the warmth of the engine. Gearbox options were a 4 speed manual or a 3 speed automatic. It was similar in appearance to the maserati Mistral, but only the door handles and front quaterlights were shared. It was fitted with a limited slip Salisbury differential.
